Sugarjar introduction

白糖罐|我们的生活比蜜甜,
Sugarjar | Our Life Is Sweeter Than Honey,

Sugarjar is an open space to see, listen to, buy and experience Chinese independent music and sound art from the 90's to the present.

Sugarjar was founded in July of 2003. It began simply as a four square-meters shop on Shui Mo alleyway, near the West gate of Tsinghua University. In October 2005, Sugarjar moved to a new space in Dashanzi's 798 Art District. The founding Tsinghua location closed shop in January 2008.

"Sunday Listening @ 798" is an independent music/sound art exchange project. It's held every Sunday afternoon at the Sugarjar space in 798 Art District. Sunday Listening may include music performances, video screenings, lectures, recitations, teachings, workshops, artist talks, etc. Free admission.
